Defineweb is an independent development practice in the Netherlands. This page explains what personal data this website and this business collect, why, and what you can ask of us. Defineweb is the data controller for the processing described here.

This website

defineweb.nl is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and builds no visitor profiles. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address for that request. If you would rather that did not happen, the fonts can be self-hosted on request.

The hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp, browser string) for security and troubleshooting. These are kept no longer than needed for that purpose.

When you get in touch

If you e-mail Defineweb, the message and the details in it are stored in the mailbox so the conversation can be continued and, where a project follows, documented. Nothing sent this way is used for marketing or passed to third parties for their own purposes.

Client work

In projects, Defineweb may process personal data on behalf of a client — for example while building, debugging, or maintaining a system that holds it. In those cases the client is the controller and Defineweb is the processor, working to that client's instructions under a written processing agreement. Access is limited to what the work requires, and test and debug data are removed when the work is done.

Sharing

Personal data is not sold or traded. It is shared only with suppliers needed to run the business — hosting, e-mail, and accounting — and with authorities where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. Write to the address below and you will get an answer within one month. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
